The Introduction

  • Yes, we do! While our practice specializes in sexuality and sex therapy, we are also experienced in treating mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, anger, self-esteem, BIPOC related challenges, and more.

  • Sex therapy sessions are typically conducted in a supportive, non-judgmental environment. Your therapist will listen to your concerns, provide education, and offer strategies to address your specific issues. They may also assign exercises to practice between sessions. Each session is tailored to you as the client.
    We recognize that everyone heals differently so we work to adapt to your specific and individual needs. The main elements of each session are consistent throughout and that is a non-judgement, respectful, gentle, and compassionate space for you to explore your challenges. We will support and guide you through self-understanding, insight, clarity, and give you tools and strategies.

  • The duration of sex therapy varies depending on your specific concerns and progress. Some individuals or couples may see improvements in just a few sessions, while others may choose to continue therapy for several months or years. Your therapist will discuss a treatment plan with you.

  • Yes, sex therapy sessions are confidential. Therapists are ethically bound to protect your privacy. However, there are legal exceptions, such as if you disclose intentions to harm yourself or others.

  • All of our therapists have a combination of unique lived experiences, master’s degrees, and specialized training. Each person on our team has demonstrated cultural competency and trauma-informed practices. Most importantly, we all focus on authentic human to human connection in relationships with our clients.

  • Yes! We know finding a therapist who is a good fit is important so we offer all new clients a 15 minute complimentary consultation before booking an appointment where they are welcome to ask the clinician any questions they may have.   • It's natural to feel uncomfortable initially, but remember that sex therapists are trained to create a safe and non-judgmental space for you to discuss your concerns. Over time, you may become more at ease discussing sensitive topics.

  • We recognize the challenges of finding a therapist, especially one that you really connect with. If you feel like something’s missing, please email us and we can support you in getting re-matched with another therapist. We will keep your feedback and request for a new therapist confidential. No hard feelings!

  • Look for therapists who are certified or have specialized training in sex therapy. You can start by asking for recommendations from your primary care physician, researching online directories of certified sex therapists, or contacting local mental health organizations.

The Process

  • Please visit our ‘Team’ page and browse through our selection of therapists. You can learn more about their background, therapeutic approach, and their availability. Then, you can either book directly using the link below their bio or email us to schedule your first session or complimentary consultation.

  • Our rates start at $165 + GST for each 50 individual minute session. To see our full list of rates, please click here.
    Many major insurance providers cover Registered Clinical Counselling. We will provide an invoice after payment which you can submit for reimbursement. However, please consult with your insurance provider or human resources department to confirm whether or not your benefits plan covers counselling/psychotherapy provided by Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC) registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). We are unable to direct bill any third party, including ICBC or CVAP.

  • Payments will be processed using the credit card on file. Receipts are emailed after each session.

  • If you must cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide us with 48 hours advanced notice, otherwise the full rate will still apply.
